Sanong Jeon Gi-Jung
Ancient Korean Literature Scholar / Calligrapher
As a third-generation local scholar of ancient Korean literature and professional calligrapher, Jeon Gi-Jung named all the traditional architecture in Médongaule Korean Gardens, drawing inspiration from the poetry of Ungok Won Cheon-Seok, and hand-wrote the inscriptions on the plaques. Every gate and pavilion features plaques or juryeon written by him in various calligraphic styles, such as cursive (Choseo) or seal script (Jeonseo).
